Show Notes Transcript

Here's a long awaited episode - a collection of bloopers.

To give more context, while recording our other episodes, we obviously really wanted to talk about Formula 1. We came back to it a couple of times and most of them turned out to be classic bloopers.

We are considering doing a full episode on F1 and this is a teaser for it, I guess.

Iliya:

Hi, and welcome to another LMS or Life Math Short. Here at the Life Math Podcast we value your time a lot, and we know that you want to listen to us every now and then, but you don't have time. So that's why we've created the shorter episodes. Enjoy

Intro:

Life Math. A podcast, indescribably tangled. Unnecessarily complex. So bad, that its good. Life Math.

Iskren:

No, but it's about again, that's that's about playing and not watching it. Thats very different. Because gladiator fights, not many people did it, compared to how many people watched it. Same thing with motor sports now, by the way. You know, almost nobody does it compared to how many millions of people watch it. Uh, F1 - 20 drivers. I don't know how many million viewers.

Iliya:

Yeah, but that's not quite the same because I drive a car and I enjoy it. I like to be like the Lewis Hamilton on the road, you know, from time to time. Never the Max Verstappen but, but

Iskren:

Yeah, I like to be the safety car.

Iliya:

Uh, it's a great Mercedes the safety car.

Iskren:

It is a pretty sick car. And it has the yellow lights and.

Iliya:

Picking up on Max Verstappen after a bad race.

Iskren:

Vershttaapen Nooo. Lewis Hamilton has been absolute dominating it for seven or whatever years. And this is the first year hes been dethroned so far by Max Vershttaapen as you say, or Max Verstappen as I say, I don't know which one's correct who should totally mention us or @ us or whatever.

Iliya:

Mark Versshtupen.

Iskren:

Vershtupen. Lets just change it one more step every time. Aaaah, Vershtrollen.

Iliya:

Moix. Moix Vershtrollen.

Iskren:

I can't even butcher with anymore.

Iliya:

I hope he's publicly pissed.

Iskren:

You know.. Oh, you guys butchered my name. I'm just called Michael Pershtrollen. Michaaeeel. Come here.

Iliya:

Oooh Fichael.

Iskren:

Fichael. Oh.. Poor, old, Luis Figo. I was just thinking. Okay. Just imagine like you go to you go to one of the tracks. Like you go to the you go to Silver Stone and then it's. YOU in Hamilton's car, right? Like.. the F1 car. Versus Hamilton in your car that you drive in the city, right. Who's going to win? Cause you're not going to drive it at 300, cause you'll be afraid that you crash and literally die. So you're not gonna really just step it.

Iliya:

Oh, man!

Iskren:

And your car can definitely go up to 200 kilometers an hour easily. So you know.. who would win? That's actually a very interesting for me. I, I don't know. Uh, its interesting.

Iliya:

Where do we race? Is it

Iskren:

It's an F1 track.

Iliya:

Aaah. It's an F1 track. Maybe, maybe he's going to win.

Iskren:

Yeah. Cause if it's in a city

Iliya:

If its a drag race. I'm going to crush him!

Iskren:

Yeah, just.. brrrrrr.

Iliya:

Actually, I have no idea how to start an F1 car or how to change the gears. So I think he's gonna win.

Iskren:

Let's say you're given like a week or something. It's sufficient time to get to grips, to be able to have some basic understanding of how the car works, to be able to start, stop and changing gears, but none of the fancy stuff that they do, which is really in-depth.

Iliya:

I think, I think. There is a good chance for me to win because the F1 car is a beast. You know, if you have enough straight lines, I'm going to win. Because he just needs, I don't know, 5 seconds, 10 seconds to go to 100 kilometers per hour with my car. And I need two seconds, you know. I'm going to win on the straight lines and he's got crushed me on the, on the turns. But if there are enough straight lines, where in some, Formula 1 tracks there are. I guess I'm going to win. But if it's in Monte Carlo like completely Hamilton all the way.

Iskren:

Yeah, yeah. I guess on the French one, it's kind of straight-y. You, you could win. Yeah, that's true. But still an interesting thought because they overlap a lot. You know, like your car could easily go at 200 and F1 cars.. you know, they go, well, 300 something hundred, but that's when you are going really fast. So you wouldn't be going at 300 cause youll crash. 200 as well. So we have the better balance, but it must be much more complex car and he can probably just bomb it at 200 all the way. I dont know. I would watch this.

Iliya:

Yeeees!

Iskren:

Let's make this happeeeen!

Iliya:

Let's make this happen!

Iskren:

We should start a Patreon or a Go Fund Me to sponsor this event.

Iliya:

Um, I'm happy with this. Just don't just don't make me race... Mr. Stollen. We should have an F1 episode as well.

Iskren:

Well, you know in this framework of acquisition and.. Um.. Urgh Uuuuh. Blooper. Acquisition and.. urgh the other one, man, come on.

Iliya:

Retention.

Iskren:

tension. Retention! Thats the whole thing with like Netflix Original. How we both got kind of into it. And we have this. The statistics show that Reddit F1 had I think the largest the quickest growing Subreddit base after the release of the Netflix thing. Uh, so many more people watch it now. Thats the acquisition strategy. And then for retention we have things thing like the continuation of the line. My dad used to watch it back in the day. So we kind of bond over this. Like the same framework can apply to F1 as well quite nicely. And we know probably about the same about F1 as about football which is not much.

Iliya:

I think I know more about football.

Iskren:

I think for me now it could be about equal, cause I don't know much about either, but recently I've been investing my time in F1 a bit more. Like reading about it, even watching it live. So maybe I know about the same for both the bare minimum.
